We had a great 4th of July at Andy's parents house! They always throw a good party and there were lots of family and friends to visit with. Here's Abby, excited about a 4th of July balloon. She carried it around for a LONG time that day.
Andy and his brother, Pat, who was visiting from Minnesota with his wife and two girls. We only see get to see them about once a year, so we always look forward to their visits.
And then there's grandpa, and his famous 4th of July pants that he's worn EVERY year for who knows how long. It's a good look for him, don't you think? :)
Zach and his cousins, anxiously awaiting the start of our "grand" fireworks display.
I love their little faces on this one.
Zach, Sarah, and Adam. Andy and Zach with his first sparkler. This one went well, but unfortunately he did another one later on that he ended up burning two of his fingers on. That pretty much put an end to our evening over there and we headed home.
Aunt Jeannette, Madeline and Abby watching from above. Madeline was soooo good with Abby all day. Such a little mother already and Abby was quite attached to her by the end of the day.
Zach going down grandma and grandpa's hill on a little scooter thing. He was sure loving that!
Just hanging out.
All eyes were on Uncle Bill as he was getting the fireworks organized and ready to go.
So this is that evening, at home. Andy wanted to cheer Zach up after his sparkler incident, so when we got home he drug the couch out of the garage and onto the edge of our driveway, made him some popcorn, and did some more fireworks. Seemed to do the trick. Zach was engrossed. Notice the bag of ice that he has his little fingers resting on?

Oh poor Zach but sooooo cute of Andy to pull the couch out and put on a show for him! That's too cute! Looks like the party was a blast and everyone looked festive in their red, white and blue! :) LOVED grandpa's pants. He's got some guts...or just doesn't care about fashion or what people think. I loved it! BUT where were you little missy? I know us mommies get stuck taking the pictures but come on, you've gotta get a few with your kids or they'll grow up thinking that Andy was their only parent. Just joking. but you know?
Amy,
I love your pictures and blog. What a great way for me to keep in touch with you and enjoy your darling family. Your 4th of July celebration reminded me of all the years our families celebrated together. The best part of that was your wonderful desserts.
Miss ya.
xoxo
Poor Zach! He's having a tough couple of weeks isn't he?! The pictures are great! We missed you at the bbq but hopefully we'll see you soon!
