My mom and I decided to try hiking with the kids last week. We figured Zach was at an age where he could make it on his own now and probably actually enjoy himself too! And Abby would just have to be at our mercy in the Baby Bjorn. :) We went up the McKenzie River to Sahalie Falls and took the trail around to the back side of the waterfall. It was so beautiful! We found a nice little picnic spot by the water, and Zach had a grand time throwing rocks in the water and getting dirty. Such a boy! It was a fun day. Zach was quite the trooper and decided that hiking was pretty fun! Says he wants to go again. Abby was great too. She seemed quite fascinated by the river and enjoyed looking around at all of the new sights. Here are some pictures of our day.

Something about that haircut that makes Zach look so grown up! Amazes me how fast kiddos grow!
Great photos, I love hiking!
What a beautiful setting! It looks like it was a perfect afternoon outing!
I am so glad the kids were good for you. And that hair cut does make Zach look like such a BIG boy!
