Easter, Part 2

Abby, unable to join the fun, watches her cousins through the screen door...poor girl.

Just some pictures of the Easter egg hunt at my mom's house. We got a little break in the rain so were able to do it outside, which was nice. Zach definitely remembered all about how these egg hunts work, so had no problem filling up his basket. Plus, he had just done another one at Grandma and Grandpa Stapleton's house.....this kid sure got lots of Easter treats! He loved every minute of it too!

A little something funny...

So a couple of days ago, Zach asks me if I have a penis. (I know, but if you haven't already had these talks with your kids, trust me, they're inevitable!)

Anyway, I said no I didn't have one. Zach asked me why, and I said, "Because I'm a girl, and girls don't have penises."

Zach thinks for a minute and says, "Oh, well maybe I can buy you one!"

I politely said "no thank you" and tried not to laugh, since he was really being so sincere. It was sweet, in a strange sort of way I guess!

Easter, Part One

Here are the kids Easter morning. Abby could have really cared less about her Easter basket, other than the fact that she got a soft new bunny to cuddle. That kid loves stuffed animals! After the Easter basket fun wore off, it was finally time to dye our eggs. We were supposed to dye them the night before, but we ended up at Urgent Care because Andy, while trying to get dinner ready, almost cut the top of his thumb off while trying to separate some frozen hamburgers with a knife. It was pretty nasty!! So, there went our evening plans! Poor guy. All is well though......for now. Hopefully it will be the end of Andy injuries for awhile! Anyway, the eggs, while certainly nothing fancy, turned out pretty and Zach had fun making them fun colors. He concentrates so hard to make sure he's doing it right and not spilling the water or anything, it's cute to watch him. Abby really wanted to be in on the action too (of course!) so we let her participate too, which mostly resulted in blue stained pajamas and little fingers. Oh well.
More to come later! Hope everyone had a great Easter!! :)

11 months old

I recently came across this old picture of Zach. It is from when we took him to a Eugene Emerald's baseball game, and it has not been in the "normal" place for our pictures so I had totally forgotten about it. I love this picture though! Look at those perfect, luscious lips! Man, I forget what a beauty he really is. He's such a big boy now....sigh....I'm just feeling sentimental I guess.

Little girl in a big hat

I just think this is the sweetest picture and had to share it. This was when she was at my mom's, and she found this hat and put it on. I just love the expression on her face!

A birthday treat

Yes, today is my birthday, which is really not my favorite day of the year just because I feel like I'm getting so old.....BUT, it does have it's perks. This beautiful spring bouquet for one.....my sweet mother brought it over to me this morning. The flowers are all from her yard, and I love it! It smells heavenly and makes me happy. :) Thanks, mom!

Bounce!

Our nephew, Austin, recently celebrated his 10th birthday and had his party at Bounce gymnastics. It was such a great place for a birthday party and we so enjoyed watching our kids and nieces/nephews (ok, and a few of the adults too! ssshhh!) try all of the different equipment. There were a ton of trampolines (in fact, one whole room was JUST trampolines,) a balance beam, parallel and uneven bars, and lots of other fun tumbling things that I don't know what to call! Anyway, it was a lot of fun and all of the kids loved it! Talk about a great place to burn off all of that "kid energy." Whew!
Abby, checking out one of the mats.

Zach, getting some help on the balance beam from cousins, Peter and Alex.

Bouncing away!
