Abby Lynne

Abby shows us her muscular build, and her pending umbilical Cord separation. I can't wait for the umbilical Cord remnants to disconnect so we can give her a real bath. She seems to like the water already.

Zach & Abby playing catch.

Zach was enjoying playing catch with Abby when we got home from the store today. I think she catches better than Zach already!

My first time holding Abby. Still diaper less at this point, looking just as new as she did when I delivered her about 10 minutes earlier. I was expecting to feel like I'd seen a birth before, since I'd been at Zach's. But the whole experience is every bit a miracle the second time around too! I was as amazed as the first time, witnessing the first breath of air, cutting the umbilical Cord (I knew where to cut it this time & didn't scare the Doctor) and hearing Abby's sweet voice begin it's first song.

Amy on the phone with the Doctor right before we left for the Hospital. Abby was born about 12 hours later. I like this picture because the morning light coming in the window makes my beautiful wife shine. She shined all day, right through the delivery of little Abby. As the lack of sleep caught up with us over the next few days, neither of us was very shiny. Amy shone better than I, but I hadn't shaved yet:)

Zach enjoyed the trips to the farm in October of 2006. He enjoyed the hay rides, the animals, running in all of the open space, the hay maze, and most of all the applesauce doughnuts. He wouldn't talk about the pumpkins, or the rest of it all........ just those applesauce doughnuts!!

Amy and Abigail after the delivery. Mom didn't even break a sweat!

The Week After

Well, little Abby is over a week old now and is still eating, sleeping, and pooping right along. She is sleeping well enough at night for her Mom, Dad, and big brother Zach to get a decent night's sleep. She is my favorite child because of it! :) Amy spent her first week at home alone with two little ones. The first day had it's moments, but she sailed right through the rest of the week. Zach had day care on Wednesday, so she did get some time for her and Abby alone. Zach is adjusting to his new roll of big brother. He has done well, and shows his love for his little sister often. Zach likes to hold her, kiss her head, talk to her when she fusses to try and calm her, and of course sing her songs!
